COVID-19 Operations at RJ Cinema

Update Monday, March 16 5:30 pm

By order of the State of Ohio Department of Health, our movie screens will need to go dark for now.  We hope that this is a short lived situation and we look forward to showing you the best that Hollywood has to offer again very soon.

In the meantime, we've been saying that we're 'so much more than just a movie theater'...  one of those more items is our wonderful menu, AVAILABLE FOR CARRY OUT and found at

We'll be working together with our friends and next door neighbors at Rincon Mexican Restaurant for a little CineMexican magic over the coming days and weeks, so watch our Facebook page for announcements.

We can't wait to get things back to normal for everyone, and we look forward to seeing you in the meantime with your carry-out orders of our great food AND bottled liquor with recipes for your favorite RJ drinks.

RJ Cinema Distillery & Taproom loves being part of the local community. As your local theater, we want to offer a small form of relief to local mom's and dad's struggling to deal with working remotely, and having kids home from school...
We'll be showing "educational" movies from 10 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday for FREE. We'll show movies that relate to math, science, history, sports and the arts. We're still working on the whole play list, but for now, here is what we plan to show:

MONDAY, MARCH 16, all three free movies playing at 10 am and again at 1 pm
• First Man (Science theme, a story of how Neil Armstrong’s journey to become the first man to walk on the moon)
• Hidden Figures (Math theme, a story of women working for NASA and crunching complex math faster than the computers at that time could)
• Pearl Harbor (History theme, a story of the attack on Pearl Harbor and one of the US responses to Japan)

For the mom's and dad's, we offer free wi-fi, charging outlets, and a comfortable taproom to work in while the kids watch and learn a little. We'll have CNN, FOX and CNBC on our taproom televisions.   Because of the order from the Governor of Ohio, we will be limiting the number of seats in our taproom and they will be available on a first come, first served basis - with a directive of assuring all guests have a safe "social distancing" around them.
THIS IS NOT A DAY CARE OPTION. All guests under 18 will need to have at least one responsible adult with them and will be expected to be respectful to others and well-behaved while at RJ.
We'll also have other regularly scheduled movies available to purchase tickets for, and of course our concession will be open at 10, our kitchen will be open at 11.
The first set of FREE movies should be ending before Noon, we'll have a second set of free movies showing starting around 1 pm (our normal movies all have showtimes published on our website). That leaves time to purchase and enjoy a hot and fresh lunch from our kitchen if you want.   Based on capacity concerns, you may need to eat in the theater seats where you watched the movie from.
We hope that offering these free movies and making our taproom and free WiFi available to our friends and neighbors helps, if even just a little. No purchase is required, but for health and safety reasons, NO OUTSIDE FOOD MAY BE BROUGHT IN TO THE TAPROOM OR THEATERS.

A note about safety:
Our theaters have only 100 to 150 seats to begin with, and we've reduced seating capacity to 40% to allow for "social distancing" inside the theaters. We've roped off every other row and empty seats should be allowed between parties. We use a sanitizing solution to thoroughly wipe down seats, arm rests, tables, and the back of seats after each show. We're wiping down tables, seats, door handles, sinks/faucets and other hard surfaces once per hour. In short, we're staying as clean as we can for the safety of our guests. GUESTS WHO DO NOT FEEL WELL SHOULD STAY HOME UNTIL ALL SYMPTOMS ARE CLEAR.
